Meet the First Trans Man on the Cover of Men’s Health in Europe

Ben Melzer will make history as the first out trans man to be featured on the European edition of Men’s Health.

The German edition of Men’s Health will feature transgender fitness model Ben Melzer on the cover of its April issue. Melzer will be the first transgender man to appear on the cover of a men’s fitness magazine in Europe, according to U.K. LGBT site Pink News. Melzer landed on the cover after entering the German magazine’s cover model contest.

A transgender man will appear as the cover model for the April issue of Germany’s Men’s Health magazine.

Fitness model Ben Melzer opens up about his transition in the upcoming issue, and says he would like his time in the spotlight to give hope to those who may be in similar situations.

“When I was in that situation, I had nobody to talk to,” Melzer said. “I want to give the community a face, stand up and answer those questions for people.”
