Needing to post more often so have some Umbrella academy scribbles.
Step 1: Start a cult
Step 2: Get possessed by your brother
Step 3: Your brother keeps the "words of wisdom are lyrics from the future"-bit going
Congrats, you're Klaus Hargreeves
For some reason now I associate five with strawberries but idk what the others with, maybe Ben with blueberries ... That's all I can think of right now.
(I can literally picture it in my head that both Ben and five hair clips in their hair and it's a blueberry and strawberry)
does anyone else have just a bit of a problem with sparrow ben?? i've never seen outright hate for sparrow ben (dw, i don't hate him) but i've also never seen anyone bring up what has been on my mind for a while now.
i just could never get on the train of liking sparrow ben as much as i liked umbrella ben because they act like completely different characters when it's absurdly clear that having ben move on to the afterlife was a mistake that they were trying to patch up. also the fact that sparrow ben was taken in as a sibling and sloane fell in love with luther. like i get this is a different universe but one or the other guys PLEASE i did not want there to be another luther the sister kisser arc in the undertones of this storyline..
and i also think exploring other stuff would have been REALLY cool!! like carla from the comics. her power (being able to reverse events by saying the opposite of what happened) would be a very effective counter to both allison and lila's powers and would have made as a cool enemy for specifically them.
ik that ben moving on to the afterlife was important to his character getting closure, but it didn't need to happen. i feel like the story could have moved on without it. if the writers really wanted ben back so much, i feel like exploring klaus being a teeny tiny bit more powerful would have also been cool!! say, klaus can do necromancy but it drains a lot of his energy so he's pretty much powerless for a few episodes and we get to explore klaus being happy because he gets to be both sober and not tormented by ghosts, but also klaus suddenly realising he can't rely on ghosts if he needs to fight anymore because he can't communicate with them for the time being.
idk. there's just always been something that irks me about sparrow ben. i can never enjoy him as a character like i enjoyed umbrella ben.
*Reading Viktors book* Ben: "Klaus Hargreeves slutty drug addict"?? Klaus: heh that's original Ben: "TOO DEAD TO FUNCTION????" Klaus: hey- that's only okay when I say it
