Dominic Roque : Benchingko/Films Presents Fantastic Forks
Kontrabida 101 by Benchingko/Films
"Tandaan: Bidas, they come and go. Pero kaming mga Kontrabida, we never fade away."
~Bella Flores, 2012
#Benchingko Premiere
Last July 27, 2012, I was given the privilege to be one of the chosen few to watch the Premiere of Benchingko by the number one clothing brand here in the Philippines, Bench.
The event started at 6PM held at Center Stage in SM Mall of Asia.
Upon entering the venue, huge back drafts of the various artists who participated in the 6 short films were put up. Best thing is that you're walking in a red carpet as if you are a VIP attending an awards ceremony.
The whole cinema was packed by fans and Bench afficonados who can't wait for this meaningful and bench-marking event.
The event was hosted by ever famous Raymond Gutierrez who definitely looked sleek and class with his formal ensemble.
The opening short film was from the man himself, Mr. Ben Chan. To mark the 25th year of Bench in the industry, there were 25 of him while telling the story how Bench started.
Coco Martin starred in the shortfilm "Horse Power".
The heart throb Piolo Pascual for "Perya".
The other short films were by Lovi Poe with "Kama" and Bella Flores with "Kontrabida", while Ms. Lucy Torres-Gomez had a short documentary about her organization which helps plant trees and educate children in Ormoc titled "Star Teacher".
The event was packed by numerous Bench endorsers: Enchong Dee, Shaina Magdayao, Jessy Mendiola, Jason and Melai of PBB, Regine Angeles, Diether Ocampo, Anthony and David Semerad, etc.
It was truly a fabulous evening. Not only it marked the involvement of Bench to film making, but also how bench have changed the lives of many.
25 years is not a joke. The day to day challenge of creating, innovating, and conceptualizing various apparels that would appeal to the mass is a very challenging task. To include, Bench is more than just a money-generating company, it's an organization that helps.
Kudos to Mr. Ben Chan and the rest of the team of Bench. More years to come for this wonderful company.
'Til I post again,
