Bender/Leela Drabble - Comfort

One would have thought it would be an uncomfortable experience. He was a robot, after all—shockingly cold metal from head to toe. And yet…

And yet, as they watched TV cuddled together, his arm snaked around her waist, she found him so warm—his processors whirring away and creating heat, almost as if to remind her that despite his outward appearance—frigid and uncaring, sometimes almost callously cold—he could be gentle and comforting with those bold enough to get close.

If you had told me a year ago that the fandom that would finally be the one to tear me away from MLP was FUTURAMA of all things, I would have not believed you.

When a mission going wrong leaves the Planet Express trio stranded for days, Leela is forced to confront the consequences of running out of one thing and one thing only: alcohol. While dealing with the resulting very, very, VERY sober Bender, she is suddenly privy to a gentler, nicer side of him she'd seldom seen before--much less directed towards her.
