The 55-year-old Tenzin managed to find a quiet routine in Cranefish Town (what would become Republic City) after his unforeseen arrival just a week ago. This consisted of laying low, managing the upkeep of the local Avatar Aang Fan Club chapter, and teaching what he knew to the chapter's members without revealing his airbending ability. In return, the group of teens gave him food and shelter.

It was far from ideal. However, it was more than what he could hope for, because the recent announcement of Aang's visit to the club gave Tenzin a breath of hope. Not only would he get to meet his father, but maybe the Avatar could help him get home. But how much information would Tenzin have to reveal to make that happen, and was it even okay for him to do that? As the group of fans flocked to Aang, Tenzin remained hidden in the shadow cast by the deck's awning, revisiting these questions and totally not shaking at the knees to see his dad again. Nope. Not at all.

Sokka grumbled a bit as he wagged his finger. It had been- a long day for all of them.

“I am offended, i am angry, I am very tired. So I’m going to take a nap. But when I wake up oh you’re in for it.”

       𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬  𝐚𝐧  𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐲  𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐭  𝐨𝐟  azul  flame  from  her  sharp  fingertips  ,   she’ll  glare  at  him  from  behind  the  bars  where  she  sits  .   the  bars  are  singed  black  with  ash  ,   but  they  still  stand  strong  .   and  it  REEKS  in  her  cell  ,   of  sweat  ,   tears  ,   a  girl  who’s  lost  anything  that’s  ever  mattered  .     ‘  you  should  have  taken  my  bending  while  you  had  a  chance  .  ’   her  bedside  manners  always  ...  left  more  to  be  wished  for  .

To finally be free of the Boiling Rock, Xiong had many lingering regrets that he wanted to answer for, even as he walked through the fire nation still in the Boiling Rock’s detainee attire. Joining the Fire Nation Army to finish what his parents died for only to go against that very dream later. He was conflicted about whether or not he could even stand in front of their graves with a clear conscience was among one of them. 

To find the men he had led during his time in command or go to his parents graves, he also had to come to terms with trying to find courage when it came to Ty Lee. Though he was lost in thought, his eyes were still focused on the road in front of him. 

Seeing Aang in front of him snapped the firebender out of his thoughts. “Avatar, my sincerest gratitude for ending this war.” Given the extent of his actions and the results, the former commander would present the words with the entirety of the respect that he can give to the other. He would do his best to keep his mind out of his thoughts, his thoughts would partially placate themselves on the brownette’s face.
