Tinghir, 2025
This summer, we went back to the Todgha Gorges in Tinghir, a place where we spend time as a family every year. There’s a river running between the mountains a perfect spot to relax, cook tajine, share a meal, and enjoy the day before heading back in the evening.
The first photo shows an Amazigh mother (chelha) with her children. I simply asked if I could take their portrait, and they agreed.
The second image is a video taken while we were looking for a parking spot. A musician passed by with a bendir, and sang in Tachelhit (Chleuh). His improvised performance, just a few meters from the river, made the moment feel even more alive and authentic.
Every time I come back to this place, it feels good. It reconnects me to my life, my roots, and the hospitality at the heart of Moroccan culture an openness and generosity that is central to our identity.
