Day 5 #fallforcostume is inside. Here is a recap of how I created the insides of the Benediction Staff from #worldofwarcraft I made the center gem hollow so that I could hide the battery pack from the sparkle lights. I then hand sketched a pattern and cut it out of insulation foam from the hardware store and sprayed expanding foam on top of that to make the curved bevel shape. I then covered everything in worbla and painted it gold. For the sunwell! Should I make a cape for this cosplay? I've been eyeing the Trial of the Grand Crusader cape pattern by @cestlasara which also comes in blue (Permafrost Cape) from the Cache of Al'akir. The deep blue cape doesn't quite match the teal of t3 though. Thoughts? #transformationtuesday Prior to this build, all my other cosplays took a month or less to make. I would get inspiration and then build the costume or creation while it's still fresh on my mind. Even though this cosplay is pretty comfortable and easy to move around in, I learned to budget an extra 15-30 mins in order to get from point A to point B at conventions. The extra time is to navigate the crowds, take photos or be photographed. I have no plans for a next cosplay yet and am just enjoying the time off for having a normal life. 😊 I am extremely thankful that I had the luxury of time, money, apartment space, and dedication to be able to produce this. I became a one person sweat shop for over half the year (and I know others have spent longer amounts of time). My full time job contract ended and I did not have another job immediately lined up. I was unemployed and job hunting for a month. I prioritized the project build schedule over friends and family. Despite all of this, I think the experience was worth it.
