D&D by committee

Take all the members of a nerdy organization. File them into a room. Put them in five groups. Each group gets a character sheet and has to decide what their PC does each round as a team. No backtracking.

Creature design question(s): when making a new character, creature, or category of entities (ex. Ectosaurs), do you try to keep them distinct from unrelated groups in the same setting? How do you weight the appearance of individual entities vs. how all those entities fit together within the setting? (These are really broad, so maybe a bit much to actually answer, but I'm really curious how you do it!)

I do actually worry a bit about redundancy like that, but sometimes I just like something so much I HAVE to get it out multiple ways in the same continuity. The fact that Pokemon does this actually makes me feel a lot better about it; if they don’t care that they have several monsters based on the same animal with the same twist then I guess I shouldn’t either.

For “categories” or “types” I have them emphasize 1-2 themes, like how the Ectosaurs are both “ghosts” and “prehistoric creatures,” but it’s still okay for monsters in other groups to share some of those traits too. It’s just that each class is a more specialized version!

I don’t think there’s anything particular I should warn anyone about, obvo there’s a TON of graphic sex, but it’s all consensual. There’s some homophobia as part of the overall plot and one character’s development (Basically. She loves her husband. Her husband is gay and doesn’t love her back in the same way. Then it turns out her daughter is bisexual. Mix that with a puritan society and it’s kind of a mess.) and one subplot that involves a lot of consensual dom/sub play, so if any of that ain’t your alley it might not be your bag, but otherwise there are a lot of really compelling underlying themes and plotlines and the characters are all A+ I love them

Yo, dumbass question - did you intentionally stop updating the wordpress of The Dad Brigade? As-is it looks like a discontinued comic; it might be a good idea to add a final page linking to tapas if you don't intend to add more there. (I just archive binged the whole thing after I found it through a comics collective advertisement on another site, got to the end, and was super sad until I did a little google-fu)

ah, yeah. i havent updated it because the system to add pages is super clunky. I do keep intending to upload, cause ive got the domain name that i like there, its just a grueling job. I also didnt realize i was actually getting traffic there, so if i am, i should keep goin. I deleted the tumblr for it, i was uploading there too. But yeah, ive updated ch1 since publishing on wordpress, and changing it on WP i assume will be equally awful so i just havent been using it. Thanks for letting me know people are still finding it through there! It is definitely still a thing im working on
