when i first saw the first trailer for Romeo is a Dead Man, i was pretty sure that the whole thing was the result of Suda watching a shit ton of Rick and Morty and getting hype. You know like how Travis Touchdown was inspired by Johnny Knoxville? cos Suda loved Jackass so much?

The Rick inspired vibes coming off of Benjamin Stargazer are pretty strong, especially after reading these character blerbs today:

you know what that "grandather is more like his best friend" tidbit makes me think of?

and guess what inspired the creation of Rick and Morty in the first place?

A ton of new Romeo info dropped today and it looks like Ben isn't as wacky as i was expecting him to be, he actually seems kinda subdued, doesn't really fit the "eccentric scientist" architype

*whispers* its the voice actor, he's another victim of "anime voice" WRONG I WAS SO FUCKING WRONG, I GET IT NOW. i know what they're going for with Ben now, that first trailer with the 2d animation completely got my wires crossed, disregard all the rick and morty stuff (for now? Still could be relevant once we get more info)

The voice actor is 100% going for a Christopher Lloyd "Doc Brown" voice! Even the character's face is modeled like young 1955 Doc Brown aka 1980s Christopher Lloyd

I feel pretty confident in guessing that this is gonna be a very "Back to the Future" flavored story, i mean LOOK
