Happy #WellnessWednesday Welcome to my page! My name is Jessica Aytch. I'm a vibrant, sex positive, health enthusiast uplifting mental health and holistic wellness! I'm a graduate of the best kept secret in the South @Bennett_College for Women. I also studied at @ncatsuaggies during my matriculation at Bennett. I like to think I'm a product of these two illustrious HBCUs but a #BennettBelle to my core! 💙 In 12 days I'll be starting the 2019-2020 school year in my new role as Health Educator/Wellness Coordinator for Thomasville City Schools! What exactly is a Health Educator/Wellness Coordinator? My job is to teach Sexual Health Education to middle and high school students using the 'Draw the Line, Respect the Line' and 'Reducing the Risk' curricula. My objective is to reduce teen pregnancy and STI/STD rates in our district. I'm also responsible for initiating and maintaining wellness programs that support the mental and physical health of our TCS community. My goal is to help transform #SexualHealth and #MentalHealth Education locally and beyond! I support inclusive, accurate, age-appropriate, comprehensive, empowering, consent based sex education that supports folks in making fully informed, healthful decisions. I also understand mental health is a huge issue we need to prioritize in our communities and everyday lives. I plan to introduce and facilitate events, workshops and programs that address mental health challenges and concerns. As well as provide support and solution oriented information to help us all improve and maintain our mental health. I will work to demystify sexual health education, destigmatize mental health support, reduce + eliminate shame and help to make improvements that uplift & encourage our collective holistic health + wellness.
