Belgrade
We were on the night train from Hungary to Belgrade for about eight hours. Between midnight and 1 AM the customs interrupted my sleep. TWICE. At the last train station in Hungary and the first station in Serbia.
Thursday 4 July 2013
Arrived at Beograd Glavna Železnička Stanica at 6 AM. I hardly had any sleep. Checked in at Star Hostel and slept till 4 PM. Afterwards we had a heavy meal and a siesta until it got dark (soooo hot!).
The main shopping street in Belgrade is Кнез Михаилова (Knez Mihailova). I talked to a local busker Aleksandar. He told me that buskers need a permit but that I should just try it (since I'm a tourist :p)
It was hard to find a spot since there were buskers everywhere. I walked at least for an hour but I went back to Aleksandar and I asked him if I could busk after him. I played 45 minutes while trying to keep the mosquitoes away. :)
I earned 1.000 dinar (= 10 EUR) which is pretty much here in Serbia. :)
Friday, 5 July 2013 Checkout time. The hostel is too far away from the station to leave our rucksacks behind. So we had to carry them along until we had our night train to Bar, Montenegro. Sooooo heavy and soooooo hot...
Even too hot to busk so we just walked around a bit, had lunch and got on our night train. The guy we shared a coupé with bought us a beer so in return I played a song for him. Thanks Vlad!
Bar, here I come!
