⟢ summary: y/n, a first year student at hybe university, has been in love with choi yeonjun since high school, and even went to lengths in high school by dating choi soobin in hopes to get closer with yeonjun, but ultimately, both her relationship with soobin and her mission to get close with yeonjun, failed. learning yeonjun started working at a café y/n becomes a frequent customer and unexpectedly develops feelings for a certain someone at the café.

monday, 6:15am — t-4 day(s) until friday:
*beeeep beeep beeep beeeep* the sound of chaewon’s alarm rung at 6:15 in the morning for her 7:00 am class.
as chaewon slowly woke, she noticed y/n sitting against the headboard of her bed, staring so deeply at her phone that she could basically burn a hole through the screen.
“y/nnie, did you not sleep well last night? did your little date with beomgyu keep you up?”
though y/n didn’t sleep a single wink, she replied, “nah, i just couldn't stay asleep for some reason. got an hour or so of sleep before I couldn’t no more.”
chaewon, climbing out of bed, “mmm, I get you. do you want to get some coffee before class? I mean, you don’t have to be out of the house for another hour or so, but maybe it’ll be nice! i for sure need a cold brew asap.” “maybe not, I’ve been trying to cut back on caffeine recently.” a lie, since y/n didn't want to admit that she could not face beomgyu nor yeonjun after last night.
“ahhh, I see. let me know if you want me to pick anything up for you, I’ll be coming back around noon!”
“thanks, wonnie, you’re the best, i love you.”
monday, 12:36pm:
y/n was going from her lectures to the library when she received a message from beomgyu:
just as she shut her phone off, she saw beomgyu across the street, leaving the café and walking towards her direction.
shit.
y/n immediately turned back and started pacing back to the apartment when she heard beomgyu call after her.
"y/n!" accompanied with the sound of beomgyu catching up to her.
"oh hey beomgyu, are you on your break?"
"nah, i just left for the day after hearing you wouldn't be stopping by today, haha," putting his phone into his back pocket, he added, "not much to do anyways, slow day."
y/n flustered at beomgyu's sudden confession, "oh– um, well i was just going to run some errands just now. i didn't expect to see you!" y/n said while trying to end the conversation before she starts feeling guilty for stringing beomgyu along as she never formally told him that she has feelings for someone yeonjun.
"well, i better get going before yuqi gets mad at me for taking so long! i'll see you around, yeah?"
"WAIT– um do you need help bringing them back later?"
"nah it's fine, thanks gyu for the offer though!"
tuesday, 1:53pm — t-3 day(s) until friday:
y/n and kai's understanding modern media gen-ed class was in the middle watching a film for one of their assignments when kai asked, "ynnie, do you wanna come watch our band's concert on friday?"
"oh yeah, i was planning on coming, why?"
"oh i was just wondering if you needed a ticket, that's all!"
"uh i don't think– wait, actually, yes i do."
kai, hearing this, immediately took out his pencil case and handed her a small ticket, "here, i'm shocked yunjin didn't give you one already!"
"she was about to, until she realized she was missing a ticket. i just gave my ticket to chaewon since she wanted to go much more than i did," y/n, immediately hearing how rude that sounds, she added, "not saying i didn't want to go, of course!! but she's a die-hard fan of your music!"

tuesday, 9:33pm
beomgyu arrived at y/n's lecture hall much earlier than needed. after y/n argreed to get dinner with him, he was so excited that he could barely think of anything else, let alone pay attention to his lectures.
he firstly adjusted the passenger seat's headrest, then went onto adjust the seat's position so that y/n could be comfortable on the way to the restaurant.
after triple double-checking the car, he launched his spotify app and went to create a new playlist.

as beomgyu was busy curating the playlist, y/n knocked on the car window. shocked that y/n came out earlier than expected, beomgyu rushed to get out of the car to open the door for her.
"dang gyu, you're so early."
beomgyu, opening the car door for y/n, "i can say the same for you!"
"we got let out early because the professor forgot it was him and his wife's tenth anniversary haha," y/n said as she got inside the car, "i feel bad for his wife, but i'm so happy we got early today!"
beomgyu got in the car after making sure y/n was all situated, "so what do you want to eat right now? we can go anywhere, i don't mind."
"ummm i've been lowkey craving some pasta," y/n replied, "would you like that?"
"omg sure, i loveee pasta! we can go to this place i know, i promise their food is really good."
"i'd like that! off-topic, but i love the songs you have going on, i swear i have most of them in of my playlists!"
beomgyu hearing this, was secretly ecstatic, "oh shit, really? damn we're legit soulmates!"
