Mal gucken. Vielleicht sage ich mal von Zeit zu Zeit welche Blogs ich da wirklich mag, die mal mehr Aufmerksamkeit bekommen sollten. ^^

Agreed, to a degree it's like people with very large blogs can get addicted to getting more and more people. Something happens to them, but I don't know what it is.

I think it is like an addiction. With a small blog, that is relatively unknown you can do what you like. Everything is positive. Like if someone new follows you that is exciting. Same when a post suddenly gets more notes than a few. Once people get outside this obscurity though, it changes. You need more to get the same excitement as the one note on a little blog meant. For many it is like “I have x-thousand followers, why do only 50 like it?” Then add the compitition. Like before you could do it for fun, but for many, once they realise that they are popular they compare themselves to each other. It’s like running. When you do it for yourself then you don’t care that there are marathon runners who are three times as fast. When someone tells you though that you are fast and you recognise that you are in the top 50 maybe, then you start to compete and want to be better than the rest. Then it becomes about notes and followers. At least for me though that sucks out the fun from it. That’s not why I started or why I do this. I was happy to pass my time here with 10 followers, when a post got 4 notes. So why should I change that? I try to not forget that.

Yep, it’s basically a pyramid scheme. Only good for those who start it. :/ Beside tumblr shouldn’t be a competition for the most followers. :/
