I was tagged by @eemamminy-art a while back and wanted to do it for Bera! Body language varies person to person, and even the same actions can mean different things to different people so this was interesting to do! I do think Bera is much more expressive with positive emotions, and when things get more serious he actually hides his reactions fairly well, or forces more 'positive' traits to mask his feelings.
Honestly, before this the only thing I had set for Bera was the one animation of Gumshoe in Ace Attorney when he scratches the back of his head.
Not gonna tag anyone myself, but it's a fun thing to think about how your WoL/OC might act in certain situations in general!
While they might be waiting a bit longer to see each other in person, they've got an Interdimensional Postmoogle, well, Post Roegadyn, to bring them photos and gifts.
Their spar had been simple before this, and Bera had taken advantage to catch him off guard. He may be a healer but he knows how to fight with a sharp tactical mind - he takes advantage, especially when someone is underestimating him or holding back.
Raubahn seemed quiet, even as his eyes widened in surprise when he found the lance pointed at his face. He was sparring with Bera at Pipin and Nanamo's insistence, fighting a worthy foe before his arrival at the Grand Melee, his biggest engagement and public display since losing his arm.
Unsure how to get Raubahn to take him seriously, and make him believe he can still fight as strongly as he did before, he does something he rarely ever does.
He gambles.
"Victory or Death."
He whispers, inaudible to the two Lalafells watching in the private arena, and he sees Raubahn's eyes grow wide. A flurry of emotions play on his face as Bera expected, his previously apathetic expression warping to surprise, then anger to an odd focus. Perhaps he realized how Bera learned something there was no way of him learning.
Echo visions are something he hates acting on, but it was his best shot at shocking Raubahn, to light his fire - a hope whatever ignited brought the spark back in his eyes.
The quiet was broken by a hearty laugh as Raubahn got up from the floor. He walked backward, hiding his expression from Bera, but the soft gasp from Nanamo and cheer from Pipin lead him to believe it worked.
"Brave man to taunt a bull," Raubahn said. He walks over and grabs his helmet, and Bera only has a second to take in the flame back in his eyes. It's passion reignited, and Bera suddenly feels it first hand, piercing him straight through the heart. His heart beats faster as he's reminded just how much he's crushed on this man, and an intense stare that meets his own wide eyes and a charming grin that promises trouble of the best and worst kind, remaining even as the mask goes down.
And as Raubahn leaps into the air and the fight goes back on, Bera grabs his lance, prepares to fight for his life and wonders, perhaps, taunting the bull was a mistake.
