Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson's Beautiful Beings (Berdreymi, 2022), with Birgir Dagur Bjarkason (Addi), Áskell Einar Pálmason (Balli), Viktor Benóný Benediktsson (Konni), Snorri Rafn Frímannsson (Siggi).

A nuanced painting of Icelandic teenage boys, lost to themselves by rather dysfunctionnal families. In the high school they attend, Addi, Konni and Siggi act like bullies, especially against Baldur (Balli), a shy boy who's subjected to constant peers harrassement. Konni is especially violent and sanguine. The central character, Addi, narrator of the story, starts to change his behavior after an assault against Balli. Progressively, his vision of Balli shifts, as he figures out how the latter's life and family are a mess. Progressively, Addi makes Balli his friend and his mates' too, but peer into Balli's life is dangerous.

A beautiful and tough-realistic movie. I was less convinced by the secondary plot, about Addi's self-discovery of divination powers (his mom's legacy), but maybe it's a way to suggest that he then starts to accept his feminine part, being more empathetic and affectionate.
