Bereaved October
They hadn't done anything for years. They... they hadn't been this close in a few years, maybe that's why.
She didn't even know why she did it, but she got a cupcake from the bakery down the street. She brought it home and set it off to the side, pulling out her good bottle of wine. She'd also been avoiding him the whole day up until dinner.
She slowly meandered towards where he was sitting on her couch and crawled into his lap. It'd been forever since she's done that too. "Hey..." she mutters softly, looking up at him. There's a little bit of tears in her eyes, just welling there and unwilling to spill over. She can't cry over that... all the tears had been spilled she had thought.
She would go to her storage locker an in the very back, hidden behind rolled up rugs and a dinning table she couldn't get rid of... a cradle. They bought it from this place along side the road when they drove all the way back to New York from the West Coast.
She wondered if he still remembered, but she knew he did. How could he forget? How could she?
It'd been years and it still hurt, and she can't remember when she thought the pain stopped at all.
