Living In The Moment Artist Spotlight
Bere Weillschmidt Cover Artist
How long have you been drawing? I started drawing Star Wars comics since I was a child but I took storytelling and drawing seriously until I was an adult. I’d say 12 years.
When did you start drawing QuiObi? At the start of the Pandemic I discovered this amazing ship. Haven’t stopped ever since!
What do you like about them as a ship? Who hasn’t crushed on a teacher before? I think it encompasses the tenderness and the want-to-be-good-to-you that it comes with a love that is reciprocated but still they feel like they need to do more. I like those kind of challenges between couples, they are truly pure and their silences are what speak louder for them!
Thoughts about Star Wars in general? There’s no other story that would make me obsess like Star Wars does. Apart from the romances that I’ve clearly grown fond of in my adulthood, there are many things that don’t stop the wonder and happiness within me. It always brings me back to feeling like a child: free and hopeful.
How would you describe your style? I’d say is cartoonish. More American than Japanese, definitely. I’d say I have clean lines…
What kind of art do you most like to create? Gay art! Definitely!
Any thoughts you’d like to share on the Living In The Moment project? This project is so dear to me because it’s the first time I have something as important as The Cover Illustration™, I was so nervous about it but thanks to Firo I felt supported and good on this task. I loved drawing on different seasons, and I’m definitely proud about the final result!
