Jack of All Trades, Master of None
Another B+ on another exam. I'm content. Perhaps I set the bar too low for myself constantly.
I have two major problems in terms of exams. The first is that I never prepare enough for them. In this past round of 4 midterms, I have already winged two of them. Damn son. I question whether or not this is actually beneficial to me and that I use my extra time wisely, perhaps through extracurriculars or by reading in the library, etc. I like to think that I'm never doing nothing, but even that statement has its exceptions... The second is that I always make stupid mistakes. Mistakes that could have been avoided by a more meticulous eye -- basically any but my own. With the halfway mark rapidly approaching and with B+'s and A-'s in all of my classes, I wonder how much room for improvement I have left in myself so that I can pull out with at least 2 A's this semester.
The "Law of Attraction" I believe has a lot to do with this. I don't visualize academic success. In fact, I could care less sometimes. As long as I pull out with anything over a B, I'm "happy." Or rather, "content" would be a better word as stated above. Yet, I find myself craving more out of myself. Not like the other students do here at Duke University who constantly demand A's or end up crying on my shoulder... *coughcough* Christine *coughcough*. But rather, I could do better. I don't know how, but I feel like that the actual matter of intelligence can be improved by working on it rather than on biology, statistics, or the like. Regardless, I'm getting there, and I'm doing better in school now than I have been before. Hopefully stepping up my game will come with rewards.
Decided to double major in chemistry/computer science... fml ._.
