Concept where after Yuuko dies Watanuki goes to the shed and finds the pocket watch that was payment for the first interaction they had together and he just breaks down because now it belongs to him again in a sense but he’d give away a million pocket watches to have things go back to as they were before

Also fuck it I am Sotsu/Gou-Satoko hater. Like, y’all can you not see there is something different (even in sheer writing quality) between this slow buildup of paranoia and fear and mental illness until your hallucinations become so strong you can’t figure out what’s going on and thus commit a terrible crime and knowing full well the suffering you’re causing because you’ve seen 100 years worth of it, you know your friends are innocent and no one is trying to kill you but STILL, STILL you commit these horrific murders, you fake abuse (the most damning thing to me about the writing of this in general), you do this all… for what?

Satoko’s arc is so shoddily written of course it’s different than the original question arcs. Not to mention the fact that she’s supposedly Hinamizawa Syndrome free (whatever tf that subplot was). How can you do from just delicate and real portrayals of trauma to a gore fest murder speedrun? Of course Satoko’s arc irritates people, it barely exists!

Higurashi, which previously deconstructed the yandere trope wonderfully, then made one of the worst yanderes to date. So yes, I do rather hate Gou/Sotsu Satoko. I’m sorry
