Post-AGT Appearance 876: Jon Keller At Large WBZ December 21
Aaaaaaaaaaavonelle would drop to 10th on the weekend of November 17 with Trinidad’s Lady up to 26th. The World’s Most Disgusting Comedian would be 13th for the weekend with $67 million, enough to start my much-needed incentive earnings. While I would have only local appearances scheduled and no interviews, the death of Cardinal Bernard Law would require a response. Cautious of offending someone by almost any public statement, my agent would decide it best to announce only that it further aided Phillip’s recovery. Except for Stephen Colbert, few would care, so the first place the comment would be mentioned on air would be Jon Keller At Large on WBZ radio 1030 Friday morning.
Keller is a political commentator with a cynical approach but ill-defined political leanings. His brief comments kill time near the end of morning hours on the news station, interrupting the redundancy of top headlines, weather and sports scores. Rather than parrot the same mantras of other media commentators he finds small matters to chat about, making few new enemies. Because of the local connection, he couldn’t resist this.
Keller: By now you know that former Boston Cardinal Bernard Law has passed on and with it a variety of comments, mostly condemning him for the sex-abuse scandal. A few bad jokes have hit the media and I won’t honor them with a comment. However Boston-born comedian Phil Cole has decided to use this for his own personal gain. You may remember how he broke into the spotlight with a run on America’s Got Talent 3 years ago, then started appearing everywhere with comments on everything from the NCAA tournament to the Black Lives Matter protests. Well, recently he’s changed direction, trying to find new life as a country singer with high-profile duets with legends he shouldn’t be mentioned with. In any case his political comments are hard to find, but he still has running gags with some of his 8 or so characters. One of them, the so-called Phillip the Boston intellectual has been out sick with Trumpitis ever since the start of the 2016 campaign. Well the gag here is that he has a list of people who make this character ill and he’s been in a coma since the 2016 primaries ended. From the start this character has had a secret person on the list in addition to known names like Donald Trump and Dennis Rodman. apparently Bernard Law is not the last name on the list, but he wants us all to know this is good news to the comatose fictional character. He posted this everywhere last night.
PBC: Though Bernard Law is not the last name on Phillip’s list, the news of his death has revived our comatose associate. We hope for additional good news in the days ahead.
Keller: This is a tired old act, Phil. Either kill off the character or bring him back with his indecipherable puns. We don’t need the modern equivalent of Archie Bunker giving political tidbits. At least that would be funny. This is Jon Keller at large.
