I think that's what the second commenter meant, anyhow? "He-ull", if you divide it up that way, sounds like two...

Ohhh, that makes sense! I guess it's a regional pronunciation thing? That's really neat though, linguistically speaking. I know I put more stress on the a of "heal" (which makes it sound like two syllables), but if you stress the vowels evenly (like your "heel" example) it's more identifiable as one.

Sorry if it's stressing you out. ^^;;;

I know and I'm trying to work on it! I have no trouble at all talking to people face to face but when I have to talk on the phone I trip on my words and I have to clear my throat so many times and I think things like "OMG OMG THEY PROBABLY THINK I'M AN IDIOT OMG SHIT FUCK W HAT IF THEY DON'T LIKE ME BECAUSE OF MY VOICE BREATHE BREATHE FUCK SHIT WHAT DID THEY SAY? NO I DON'T WANT TO ASK AGAIN I'LL SEEM STUPID" and I have no idea what to say when I'm calling someone that isn't a friend or a family member? do I say hi and then get to the point? do i go straighT TO THE POINT I MEANT THEY DON'T KNOW ME??? I'm hopeless. 

I get really anxious when I have to talk on the phone OTL
