PROJECT ETHOS - Project Runway Designers and Emerging Designer Event - 6.19.12 - Recap - Pix
Fashion, Music, and Art Glow at Avalon Designers, Musicians and Artists Provide Artistic Adrenaline for Event Goers
Los Angeles, CA- The Avalon in Hollywood was the destination for fashion aficionados, music lovers and art connoisseurs on June 19th, 2012 sponsored by Armand de Brignac. The industry meet and greet featuring signature “fashion”, “music” and “art” cocktails, a dessert bar by Sweets and Treats and decor by Savvy Flowers was packed with buyers, curators, press and participants. Attendees included reps from Tom Ford, the Dolan Group, Art Pic LA and a number of celebrity stylists.
With Reza Farahan, star of Shahs of Sunset and Golden Brooks from the CW’s Girlfriends settled in the front row, the first fashion show began with colorful collections of menswear, womenswear and accessories. Emerging designers Lauren Stucky (Lauren Stucky), Camiille Liim (Camille Liim), Noah Landis (Kent Denim), Candice Wu (Candice Wu Couture), Nausheen Gilkar (Sheen), Brenna Hoffman (XYST) and Michail Sykianakis (Mihail Kian) impressed the crowd with fresh perspectives for style this year. Models with hair and make-up styled by TNT Agency hit the runway in front of the largest high definition LED wall in any night club in the country.
Virtual Boy, a local electronica duo, performed during the break between fashion shows while live art from Lab Art’s Meex One, Felix, Septerhed and Philip Lumbang showed event goers the creative process behind their work. Alexander Salazar Fine Art based in San Diego brought Spenser Little who sold 4 pieces of his quirky, yet thought-provoking wire art.
The second runway show was a feast for the eyes with plenty of gowns and glamour from Project Runway Alumni Bert Keeter, Gordana Gehlhausen and Michael Costello. The crowd was thrilled to see some of their favorite characters of the Bravo show live on stage premiering new lines.
At 10pm the after party hosted by Jin&Quinn started with a bang as DJ Caroline D’Amore got the crowd re-energized. Shortly after, dancers from LA Doll House took the stage to open for 10 Corso Colombo, a favorite of celebrities such as Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett, Lindsay Lohan and many more. Taryn Manning spun as Venice based artist Flewnt took to the stage to create a Project Ethos inspired piece complete with a full 3-D sewing station including a working bench, sewing machine, iron and stool.
Project Ethos showcases emerging fashion, music and art to buyers, media and consumers through live events and the world wide web.

Project Runway Season 9 Winner
So Anya won Season 9 of Project Runway. That's not really much of a surprise since she won most of the challenges whether she deserved to or not. I do have to say out of the final four, she did have the best style. Her line was one-note, but I could actually see women wearing it. Since my favorite two contestants, Burt and Anthony Ryan, were already eliminated, I figured that Anya would win since the judges seemed to love her.
In other Project Runway news, the spin-off Project Accessory apparently already started with new host Molly Sims, and all new judges (weak). And we have to wait until 2012 for Project Runway All-Stars. (Mondo!)
