Berthold lcm and its shutdown !

LCM: Berthold SS16

Following a successful first presentation at London Collections Men AW15, London based Austrian designer Raimund Berthold returned for another season, this time to Covert Garden's Swiss Church for yet another successful presentation, unveiling his spring/summer 16 collection inspired by the Poster Paintings series by artist Klara Lidé.

Transformed into somewhat of a futuristic setting, Berthold presented an edgy contemporary menswear collection, to a trend setting crowd at Covert Garden's Swiss Church. A charcoal black morgue style coat draped over a turtle neck and boxy shorts was one of the outfits on show and a favourite of mine - garments resembling straitjackets and hospital apparel highlighted the designer's natural flair for juxtaposition. A magnetic colour pallet of cyan blue, paper white, charcoal black, magenta and yellow was used cleverly in wads of layered cotton, lightweight nylons, sheer organza, rain proof micro fabrics and woven polyamide.

As like most mens collections styling by Jason Hughes was kept to a minimum, one model completed their look with ski sunglasses while others rocked plain baseball caps and man bags.  

Berthold designs bold clothes for men led by inventive design and fit – not by fashion – the label is in its 12th season and is sold internationally in leading stores including Trading Museum Comme des Garçons, Tokyo and OTHER/shop, London.
