BroGamer Awards 2011: Best Multiplayer
The human interaction you get from a game's multiplayer mode is just something you can't quite match with singeplayer. 2011 has seen a whole hoard of top notch multiplayer games hit the market, but which one do we think tops the leaderboard?
Winner: Battlefield 3 (PC)
With so many great multiplayer games out this year, each with their own differing experiences, it was hard to pick this award. However, the PC version of Battlefield 3 offers a formula of multiplayer that is absolutely stellar. The detailed reports from Battlelog and easy to navigate system is surprisingly a welcomed addition. Although, the key component to the game's success is the scale. With huge 64 player firefights, a levelling system which requires commitment and a whole range of ways to play the game; it keeps us coming back for more.
We do stress that we are awarding the PC version with the title. We don't take away the fact that the game is great on PS3 and Xbox 360, but the level of depth taken away from the console version just doesn't have the same awe that the PC version offers. The factors mentioned above, coupled with addictive and realistic gameplay, make this entry into the series the best yet; and our favourite multiplayer game of 2011.
Honourable Mentions: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360), Gears of War 3 (Xbox 360), Killzone 3 (PS3), Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception (PS3)
