MICA’s Undergraduate commencement 2019 was surreal for me. It was back in 2014 when I graduated from the MFA in Illustration Practice program, feeling absolutely grateful for the best experience and guidance I have ever had. I was also going back home 🇲🇽, full of dreams and determined to become a better person and artist. Today May-20-2019, highlights a “full circle” ⭕️ in my life. It marks not just the successful ending of my first year teaching as a Full Time Faculty at my alma mater; but the day that will forever be engraved in my memory, as the tangible moment of being on the “other side of the stage”. To be sitting next to the “best of the best” in their fields, witnessing the young and creative minds that will become the biggest artists of tomorrow; it’s a blessing I simply cannot describe. And as the Cherry 🍒 on the top, @Abbi jacobson commencement keynote was amazing 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼!!!!!!! I feel like the luckiest 🍀 person alive. -Mil felicidades a los graduados del año 2019!!
