What if… apocalypse (zombie/aftermath of war/etc.) + pup reader + batfam
Whos omega whos alpha yadayada. Thoughts?
Warning: Omegaverse, zombie au, platonic yandere, OOC behaviour, etc.
Okay, I’m thinking young reader (like 10-13) who fell into another universe somehow and is trying to get back home but they are so, so scared.
And here are these nice people. Sure, they’re a little odd but they promised to help them get home! (But maybe some promises aren’t meant to be kept.)
Everything on their actual second genders is based purely on my headcannons because guys, this is the omegaverse.
—Think about it. He displays both omega AND alpha behaviours while also skirting off the mark. The protectiveness, the build, the growl. But also the hoard of children he’s got that he seems to just attract.
—I think he’d be one of those betas that changes their behaviour depending on the circumstances. Meaning, when he needs to be ‘alpha’, he is an alpha. But when he needs to be an omega, he exhibits the behaviours of an omega. He doesn’t become that second gender, he just mimics their behaviours. He’s good at it, though. This causes some complications.
—Big teeth. Canines. Heavy jaw. Not heavy like an alpha’s who are all teeth and claws and a possessive protectiveness that encompasses them completely. Heavy like a hunter. Heavy like a predator. Because, well, if alphas are the leaders and protectors and omegas are the mothers and caretakers where would the betas lie? With the food. They would provide the food. And if Bruce is able to give any of his children anything, it is a stable roof over their heads and a plate.
—In a post apocalyptic world, Bruce Wayne would be even more paranoid. Even more wary.
—He isn’t unkind, he’s cautious as he checks your body for bites and (attempts) to remain distant from you.
—Getting attached when there are still zombies around does him no good. He might just end up losing you too. He’s not good at this father stuff anyway.
—but by god, he is also never letting you leave. He’s selfish like that. Wanting you so badly he’ll condemn you to a miserable life at his side.
—But not obviously so. I think most would assume he was a beta.
—Again, think about it. A Dick Grayson who, for the life of him, doesn’t want to be just an omega but keeps falling into that trap anyway. (Constant need to be liked, pushing on through burnout rather than resting, the parental way he looks after Damian.)
—(I’m not saying the parental part wouldn’t happen with an Alpha Dick. I am saying that hey, if we put it in all in a more ‘reluctant mother’ perspective then things may start to get interesting.)
—I think Dick would DEFINITELY use the fact that he’s an omega against people. (If they want to take advantage of it, he can too.) Especially against pup reader but more in a frantic, last resort kind of way where you try to leave when he knows you’ll just get killed out there.
—Cute little fangs instead of long, strong, sharp canines. Dimples poke out every time he smiles.
—Again, he’s wary. You’re a child and therefore you are a burden in the apocalypse. You’re harder to keep alive.
—I think it takes very little for him to begin to become attached. Just do pup stuff and his brain starts going ‘mybabymybabymybaby-‘
—Debated on making her an Alpha but it isn’t flexible enough for her.
—Probably a beta by design because of the whole hunting and mimicking thing they do.
—Despite all her brilliance, she doesn’t really realize how creepy she is sometimes. All-seeing. All-knowing. Poking into your weaknesses, your emotions, your fears, with her startling blue eyes. So, she’s kind of like a tarantula that you reluctantly grew to see past your fear.
—Protects you on sight honestly. Not necessarily in a familial way in the beginning but you grow on her.
—Sharp, long, and strong teeth but not as noticeable as Bruce’s.
—While betas are not as centred around family and pack as alphas and omegas are, they are still pack creatures. She will be following you around. She will cling. She will hold onto you tighter whenever you try to squirm away. Sometimes it’s playful. Sometimes it feels like a threat.
—She needs to protect you. Needs to.
—Despite one of my recent posts…
—It is because of the connotation connected to the alpha role that I chose this. Think about it like this: Jason is more alone.
—Jason has a horrible scent. It’s not horrible to you, but it is to everyone else. Dying kind of fucks up your scent glands. Not only that but he is also a mean-looking, muscled up Alpha. That isn’t going to be attracting the omegas/betas any time soon. He’s not bad looking. He’s handsome even. But his physique paired up with his second gender, his scent, and general demeanour kinda makes it hard to build connections.
—And say what you will but this guy HATES being alone. (He’s always wanted a big family. A family so big that they fill up all the seats whenever they come see him in a school-play. And now he probably won’t be able to have that.)
—(Jason can’t have a lot of things.)
—He tries to be strong, he really does, but he folds under absolutely ZERO pressure and just snatches you up.
—(He wants a family so bad. You might just be his only chance.)
—Alphas are protectors. Leaders. Jason isn’t really the leader type but he still displays protector traits. He’s possessive to his core. Territorial. And sorry, baby, but you’re not going anywhere.
—Also, he probably has super sharp teeth. All alphas do. Strong jaws that could probably crush a skull between them.
—That boy doesn’t look it (he’s a bit too pretty) but he is in fact an Alpha. The stalking bit is classic overbearingly protective alpha behaviour.
—Chose this because I think it’s funny to think about that fight between Tim and Jason at the Tower with this in mind. This is basically just alpha vs alpha stuff.
—Control issues? No, he’s just being cautious.
—You are in fact a weakness in the apocalypse but a weakness he’s willing to shield.
—Sharp teeth you’d never think were hidden behind that mouth of his.
—he’s got cameras and trackers on you at all times. You’ve digested them, worn them, smelt them; they are literally everywhere.
—Not only does it give him a connection to Dick but I also think it adds a layer to him. He is Damian Wayne, son of Bruce Wayne, son of the bat. He is Damian Al-Ghul, a prince set to be the heir of the League of Assassins. And yet he is also an omega. The second gender most looked down upon.
—He is much more desperate than Dick is to prove himself.
—This means that when it comes to pack he is even more possessive. At first, he does severely struggle against his second gender but eventually he decides that he’ll just become the best omega.
—cute little fangs but he’s also got this unsettling grin that he inherited from Bruce so..
—scared you when you first met.
—tries to mother you but it doesn’t really work out due to him also being a child.
