summary: When Jungkook, a beta, is tasked with taking care of Taehyung during his preheat, he's determined to do it well. He desperately wants to show his boyfriends, his pack, that he can do a good job- that he can be good. He feeds Taehyung by hand, keeps him hydrated, obediently fetches pain medications and lets himself be used as a human teddy bear. Anything to make the preheat easier.

But then...suddenly, Jungkook can't stop thinking about how the nest Taehyung built is all wrong. The omega is asleep, but he wouldn't mind if Jungkook fixed it, right? Just moved some of these blankets into the right spot, where it's so much cozier? Maybe he'd even be happy, proud that Jungkook knows just how to fix the nest for them both to share. Sure he's ignoring the burning heat in his stomach, the dizziness floating behind his eyes, but that's not important. The nest is important. It has to be safe, has to be perfect.

When Taehyung wakes up to a completely different nest, a sick packmate, and an unfamiliar scent, he realizes Jungkook /might/ not be a beta anymore.

SBT Little Bite #27

“They are going to fit,” Jungkook said as he shimmied a pair of already tight-looking jeans up his thighs.

Jin scoffed and crossed his arms while watching their youngest omega try to get dressed. “They may go up, but they won’t button.” 

Jungkook stopped tugging on the fabric and gasped, staring at the beta with an open mouth. “You never said they had to button!

“That’s what fitting means! People don’t walk around with their jeans wide open,” Jin cut back, loving how easily the omega was to wind up. 

“Maybe you don’t, but I do,” Jungkook replied, sticking his tongue out as he went back to his effort of now getting the jeans over his ass. His belly jiggled cutely as he jumped a few times. 

Jin rolled his eyes and leaned against the doorframe of their walk-in closet. “Maybe my pants fit me so I don’t have to.” 

Jungkook’s cheeks were turning a little pink, possibly with embarrassment, possibly with exertion. He turned around to face the mirror, looking back at Jin through his reflection with a mocking expression. “Oh, look at you, so cool because your pants fit.” 

“See! Buttoning them means they fit so let’s see it,” Jin cried out, waving his hands around to make a point. He watched as the denim finally encased the omega’s rotund backside, still looking far from closing completely. “Try to button them.”

“This is…” Jungkook said, pulling both sides together. He paused to fully suck in his stomach, tugging as hard as he could to get the button to meet the opening. “So ridiculous…” 

Jin just smirked, enjoying the little show of Jungkook really giving his pants the best effort. The beta knew well before they even started that those jeans were never going to button. 

“Why do I need to…” Jungkook started to question, now pausing to huff and puff a bit. “...wear jeans anyway?”  

Looking back over his shoulder, Jin noticed that Hoseok and Taehyung were both peeking through the bedroom threshold to silently watch the struggle as well. The beta started to laugh as Jungkook grew defeated. 

The omega pushed past Jin, looking at the two alphas in the doorway and ignoring their smiles, before throwing himself back on their bed. “I will button these pants if it's the last thing I do.”

Jin threw his head, his laughs ramping up louder and most likely grabbing the attention of the rest of the pack around the house. He watched as Jungkook wiggled around a bit and sucked in his stomach again - eyebrows raising when the omega actually started to get closer. 

Jungkook let out a deep breath and sucked in as far as he possibly could, sinking into the mattress below him. He moved his fingers quickly and snuck the button through the opening, pulling the waistband up before letting the air out. 

Jin walked over to him and sat beside him, giving his stomach a few gentle pats as the area above his waistband was squeezed so tight, the omega looked like he could send the button flying across the room at any moment. 

Leaning over and kissing Jungkook’s forehead, Jin whispered, “That was quite entertaining, baby, but you have to zip them too, and let me tell you, that’s never going to happen.” 

“Damnit!” Jungkook yelled out, immediately tugging at the button to relieve the tormenting fabric.

Jin collapsed beside him on the bed, his loud laugh returning as the alphas at the door joined in. 

Jungkook’s groaned as he couldn’t get himself free from the tight denim, only making them all laugh hard when he said, “Someone go get a pair of scissors and cut these off of me. I can’t fucking breathe.”
