First chapter of Progeny Cursed. My idea for void speak is they talk in images and pictures. It keeps the air of mystery and vagueness that I like about the vessels while still giving them the ability to communicate in some way. At least with each other. 

This was my first time working in the Comic Draw app so I was still learning. My layers are a mess and it took longer than I would like to admit to look up if there was a smoothing option for the brushed. 

Void translations:  I originally didn’t plan on putting translations in to try and keep the void speak more mysterious, but some concepts are hard to get through on pictures. I dread the day I have to figure out how to show ‘I need’ in picture format. And thanks @fadedflame for proof reading!

I’ve been fairly surprised that the web beta post editor has no undo/redo functionality. It feels like that would be an essential feature! It’s super frustrating when I delete some piece of text I was writing, maybe trying to rephrase it – only to change my mind and then have to type it from scratch. Why can I undo and redo in this ask box and when replying to a post, but not when composing a new post?

tumblr posting PSA

ok everybody i got a really confusing DM yesterday telling me not to post my images as text posts, which I thought was crazy becuase i've been doing this stuff for 5 years and nobody's ever claimed that i was posting wrong.

but this person was right, when I went on their blog my images were shown as text posts on their custom theme. so I did some testing (just now, right below this post) and it's looking like tumblr's beta post editor is broken. (you can see whether you're using it or not in the top right corner when you're posting on desktop, no clue about mobile.

So if you're a blog that primarily makes image posts it would be best not to use the beta post editor to make sure your posts are shown properly on custom theme blogs.

So Ive read posts from a couple of roleplay blogs showing their feedback (and issues) with the beta post editor. And huh, while the editor itself seem to have a few neat features, I am also dreading when it will be forced unto everyone, cuz apparently it messes up the reblogs ? Like if you make a post using Tumblr legacy (what we currently use) and then try to reblog it with the beta editor, it just deletes the previous content, making it unrebloggable? (it doesnt delete the original post thank god) So you need to make a post in beta and then reblog it with beta itself ? Theres also some issue with xkits functionnality as well with this mess. I really hope staff does something about it, tho im afraid cuz apparently somebody reported the “glitch” to staff and they say its normal ??? So, turns out my theory was correct. The issue is the “shiny new” beta post editor.

Basically, when I post a photoset with a side by side display (whether they are gifs or not) using the regular post editor, the display shows up correctly in the blog.

But when I use the beta post editor from hell, the display is vertical, regardless of the layout I’ve picked.

This only happens in blog, in dashboard or the in-dash blog view, the photosets look fine, which is why I started noticing it recently. 

I initially thought it was my theme, even though the fact that it had the old resolution was never an issue before. I changed it, but this issue persisted with every theme I tried.

Still, I didn’t think it’d be the editor because I’ve seen my photosets reblogged by other people and, in their blogs, they look fine.

However, today I was looking for a similar experience to mine and I found a post (which, for the life of me, I can’t locate again, it was made earlier this year) in which OP said the beta editor defaults photosets in the same code as text posts (single column) instead of having a separate code for photosets that allows the side by side display.

After reading that, I tried posting two photosets, one using the beta and one using the old post editor and, lo and behold, it was indeed that “shiny new” editor.

When I try to edit the post and change it back to the old editor, tumblr doesn’t allow me to place the photos in a side by side display, it forces me to use the vertical display. The only way to fix it is deleting the post and re-upload it, using the old editor, then it displays correctly.

Needless to say, the old posts I made with this issue will remain looking terrible on my blog because I don’t want to re-upload them.

I have no idea why it displays like this in my blog and not in other people’s, I’m not sure if others have the same issue if they try to post a side by side photoset with the beta editor, if their posts would look ok in my blog and not in theirs...I don’t know. 

All I know is that a) this isn’t my issue, b) I can change themes now, c) I’m gonna have to file yet another complaint about this post editor from hell.

I was checking out the optional beta option for the new post editor and while I like the new text edit options, I absolutely despise how it makes image post and texts post options the same thing. I fucking hate it. I hate that it’s treating gifsets like an add on for texts instead of a certain post. Unless you have the new editor, it makes your gifs post in a singular line instead of side by side (if that’s how you want it) because that’s the only option to post a gif in a text post. I’m so mad. When this gets doled out and becomes permanent it’s gonna screw up my gif posts so much. God I hate when tumblr messes with stuff that is working fine.
