Concept art based on pilot designs!
Author by Rachelle Reyes
When I saw these almost finished Frowntown concept arts, I wonder
Did the authors of the show think about Master Frown as the president/mayor of Frowntown earlier?
Red Master Frown's design is the most underrated, although there are actually a lot more concepts with him than with others!
He looks like this:
He has storyboards!!!!! (a possible early version of the episode "Birthday Blowout"?)
And it was also with this design that he and Brock were depicted for the concept of their car:
Hi everyone!!!
Welcome to the blog dedicated to the designs of Unikitty! concept arts and other content related to them!
This blog will publish:
art /edits / animations / fanfictions and much more, execution with the design of concepts;
headcanons and assumptions on who the characters of "Unikitty!" would be if they had the design of concepts;
redraws of screenshots from the original show or the creation of their own; development of Beta Unikitty AU (why not?);
And this blog opens this redraw!
We hope you like this blog and will be help our with it's development!
You know, we don't have a lot of concept content, but yes, I want it more and more! And also I wonder if Brock and Richard had other diverse designs or something like that? Have they always had such names, or is Brock really named after Brock Gallagher?
This pentagram was made by @erin-the-epic for her accounts Daily-Dose-Of-Brock.
In general, except for Puppycorn and Hawkodile, who for a long time could not decide on a clear color palette, and some external elements are not so significant, then Dr. Fox and Master Frown are characters with a large number of very diverse concepts.
However, in this post I want to touch more on Dr. Fox.
Interestingly, Unikitty's brother, her bodyguard and butler were originally conceived with such races, but when the turn came to the royal scientist, who was made a "purebred animal who received a lot of knowledge," then the creators apparently had problems.
Who she just wasn't'
Dr. Piggy
Dr. Chinchilla
(or Lemur?)
And even Dr. Bunny
However, it is the design of the scientist as Dr. Fox was given to her, although she could have had other versions of her Fox design, lol.
It's interesting that this particular design will be approved as a result, but then the animated series could have a different style, but in general it's ALL THE SAME DR.FOX, YOU KNOW!?
On the website of one of the creators of Unikitty, there are concepts of backgrounds and mecha-machines, where our beloved royal scientist is depicted, which suggests that IF the animated series had a different style of drawing, then she would have remained a fox with just such a design of lmao!
However, there is still such an option Dr.Fox, who is similar to the original character in the old animation style, however, has blonde hair, which she does not have.
(but Professor Non-Fox has, maybe is it a reference????)
And, it seems, everything is fine, but that's not how it is.
What? Unikitty Pilot episode is R E A L!
Yes, this is THAT! As I understood correctly, this is just an excerpt from it, which means that my blog does not exist in vain and it is possible to promote it to us.
And so, let's analyze the differences between this excerpt of the pilot ep and the final version:
In the beginning, as in the show itself, we see real Lego minifigures, but earlier we could have seen characters from The Lego Movie, at least here we saw Lucy.
The Unikitty Castle would have a more medieval design and at the same time simple and cartoon.
Sun looks like that
Richard, who, as I remember, used to be called Brick, has a different color of skin, eyes and the inside of his mouth (in the finale, he has a purple palate and a lilac tongue inside, just like Brock).
Puppycorn may have had a different character before and still had the abilities of a unicorn (?), and also his horn color used to be the same as his sister's, but the fang here does not look like a fang at all.
And also the episode itself is called "Unikitty is your friend".
If we get even more concepts and see the full version of the episode, it will give me an impetus to promote my blog and our general AU on the designs of the pilot episode!
Honestly, I dunno if this episode Birthday Blowout was one of the VERY FIRST developed, but it is interesting that it is considered one of the very first storyboards of Unikitty characters with a proto-design, as Careen Ingle called it, because the Unikingdom citizens had a design from Ed Skudder's concepts from his website in the show section, that the first storyboard Ingle with Master Frown's old design.
Concept art by Ed Skudder (Twitter) and final version
Proto design of the Unikingdom citizens by also Ed Skudder (Twitter)
Notice that these some citizens from both pics have the same poses (I just noticed this now)! Now I wonder what Ed drew earlier – this concept for an early version of the episode or a sketches of all the citizens? :D
