Here are details from my recent visit to @beta5chocolates !!!!! Lime + Coconut (upper right) // a refreshing lime curd paired with a delicate coconut mousse and garnished with a white chocolate lime. Life’s a 🏖 #beach. #Summer is upon us, and that has us thinking about one thing, and one thing only: ☀️ sunshine. Dappled, kissed, drenched, burned or stroked, we can’t get enough of the stuff, and there’s nowhere better to soak up all that sweet vitamin d than one of the many beaches around town. It’s time to ditch the rain (gear) 🌂 and 👙 slip into something a little more comfortable. The mirage 🏝 At first took, this #burger 🍔 may deceive you; #Beta5 took on a concession stand favourite masquerades as savoury treat. Take a bite and experience a #chocolate 🍫 #icecream 🍦 patty, mint lettuce, #lemon 🍋 #marshmallow cheese 🧀 and #raspberry ketchup, all on a sweet, sesame seed-topped bun. Eat it quickly though, or it will vanish before your eyes 👀 faster than an oasis in the desert. Wavelength ⛱ Take a bite out of the sunset - this colourful candy bar 🍟 is a fusion of hot, sweet, and tart. A layer of mango-ccili ganache sits atop a coconut-lime beltway, with each bar coated in our sunset inspired white chocolate blend. CASCADIAN BRUNCH 🍳 Inspired by Cascading abundance, natural landscapes, and great conversations - @beta5chocolates crafted some brunch classics that capture the essence of a lazy weekend morning spent on a sun-dappled veranda. So whether it’s ⛰ mountain-side, 🏝 beach-side, ⛱ patio-side, or even curb-side, one should always take a minute to enjoy these savoury brunch treats. THE NEST EGG 🥚 A savoury danish nest, filled with a housemade basil pesto 🍃 and sautéed himeji, king oyster, criminal and 🍄 maitake mushrooms, topped with a perfectly poached farm-fresh egg, and fished with locally grown 🌱 watercress, a dusting of fermière cheese 🧀and flaked Vancouver island sea salt - brunch for the road! HAIL, CAESER! A duel between our favourite caesars - spicy or smoky… Both versions start with a house made tomato 🍅🍫 #chocolate shell. The spicy version is filled with a Clamato #caramel with a kick of 🌶 sriracha, and is balanced with a refreshing celery #ganache. The smoky is filled with a Clamato caramel that’s finished with a healthy splash of peaty scotch whiskey, and is paired with a celery praline.
