Me and my Omegaverse brain: I see so many people headcanon Mo as an Omega, but honestly I've always seen him as a Beta. Where do people get this idea fr--

do betas present? if so how?

It depends on the verse, really..

I've seen people make Betas have heats and ruts like Omegas and Alphas but they're less intense, and I've seen people say that Betas don't present at all.

I used to be in this last group, but I've came across some headcanons in the past that have quite interested me. So if you were to ask do Betas present in most of MY verses, my answer would be: In a way.

In my more recent verses Betas present in a couple of key ways. Much like their Omega and Alpha counterparts their "presentation" happens in puberty.

The key signs the Teenager in question is a Beta is the presentation of these factors: - Nose bleeds - Migraines. - Sporadic synesthesia. - Light sensitivity or temporary night blindness.

The reason for the above is because in my more recent verses Betas have some senses heightened in comparison to Omegas and Alphas. Mostly their scent and sight are better than the other two Dynamics'. So Betas have a normal human's sense of smell and sight before presenting, but when they present their bodies have a little bit of a period of adaptation and discomfort and confusion when it comes to their new senses.

Fortunately for Betas this is something that only happens in the first months of presentation and it does not extent to their whole adult, fertile lives like it's the case with ruts and heats.

What I find odd is that people be like "beta females have periods/beta males don't have rut". It doesn't make sense - if betas are same species as alphas and omegas then betas also supposed to be in heat/rut. Only most likely it's nowhere as bad as in alphas/omegas, thus stereotype that betas do not lose their heads. Any thoughts on that?

Just cause they're the same species it doesn't mean they have the same reproductive systems/patterns. I'm the same species as any other human male, I however and sadly cannot impregnate anyone like a male theoretically can. Doesn't make us a different species from one another. Specially cause google says that the same species is composed of beings that can interbreed. Betas can breed with each other AND omegas and Alphas of their opposite sex, so they're the same species as both.

Even when they can't in some instances it doesn't make them different species. If a Beta male and an Alpha male cannot interbreed it doesn't mean they're different species, it just means they're the equivalent of a same sex relationship in the animal kingdom. But one has a rut and the other doesn't.

And even if you're not convinced by what I said, I then ask you: Why does it have to make sense? It's all make-believe anyway. All we gotta do is say: Biology works differently for humans in these universes and thus the definition of species is different.

That solves the problem and it makes complete sense, because it's not reality anyway so why couldn't it be this way?

Obviously that if anyone wants and needs their Betas to have heats and ruts "to make sense" in their own heads, go right ahead. I'm not the A/B/O police. To each their own verse.

And in those cases, yeah I think it's fine to hdcn they have less sever versions of heats and ruts.

I had this little idea.

A rich Omega female lives in a medium to small apartment in the middle of a big city. She's young, around 19 to 21, very beautiful too. She has very long blonde hair, a small body and a tiny face. She works from home and earns a lot of money because she's a genius on her field (you can imagine she does whatever you want), so she spends almost her whole day locked in one of the three rooms of the apartment, working.

As a result of that her house is a mess, there's garbage bags everywhere, clothes all over the floor, the bathroom is disgusting, and a dog would know how to use a kitchen better than her and would burn fewer things. The only company she has is a cat.

Her older brother visits her one day to try and persuade her to come back home and stop this "nonsense about living alone". She refuses and after a long discussion the brother only agrees to leave her alone with her decision if she finds someone to help her with the house so at least she can eat right and have a clean house. So the Omega puts out a listing out:

"Looking for: Someone that can clean and cook well, can drive, is not allergic to cats, can speak [secondary language of your choice for the Omega] fluently, and doesn't mind living in work." So basically an in-house maid.

Enter Beta female. A foreigner, about the same age as the Omega if not a little bit older, who just got into the country and comes from a place where Omega's secondary language of choice is actually the native language. She came to try and earn money for her family and have a better life than in her home country, but she is struggling to find anyone that'll hire her. She's in a café/dinner using almost all the rest of her money to eat, knowing that if she doesn't find something soon she'll have to go back home, when she sees this listing. She can do all of these things and sure maid was not something she had in mind when she came here, but she was desperate. So she messeges the number in the listing and after a short conversation proving that she can do all the things in the listing she is hired.

When she arrives at the apartment she's excited to meet her employer. It's an apartment so it can't be that bad right? When the little Omega opens the door for her, hair a mess, clothes stained and crinkled the beta at first thinks that this is perhaps the daughter of her employer, because she's so tiny, but it becomes clear she is not after she enters the house. It's dark and complete chaos, the air is dense and pungent, specially for a Beta. It is disgusting.

To top it all off the Omega, although promptly talking to her in the Beta's primary language, is actually really quiet, she doesn't say more than the necessary. She thought it was timidness at first, but no, the Omega really is just very quiet and doesn't really express a lot of emotion, and that's WITH the Omega's explanation that she asked for someone that could speak her secondary language because "she expresses herself better in it". And sure enough the Omega holes up into her office and just lets the Beta get acquainted with the place.

The Omega says she can do whatever she wants in her free time as long as she can make food for at least 3 meals a day, do the laundry and keep things clean (as well as maybe playing with and feeding the cat) and drive her places when she needs (The Omega buys a really expensive car for the Beta to drive).

The Beta's room is very plain and the smallest of the house, it has a wardobre, a nightstand and a bed. That's it. It smells of dust, but it's the only place in the house where there's no garbage everywhere.

Now you can imagine whatever you want for the later. They do bond and start opening up about each other's past and sharing more time together. But you can decide if it gets romantic or not. If it were me I'd make it romantic, but it's up to you.

What does scenting mean

It's when people of either of the three dynamics essentially rubs their scent glands, like sweat glands sort of thing, against someone else or pieces of clothing in order to imbue this person with their scent.

Scent glands usually vary in location from verse to verse (aka from person to person), but usually the one consensus seems to be that they're present in the neck and wrists. But other verses have them on their inner thighs, elbows, ankles and forehead.

It can have many meanings, but usually it's for comfort and affection. It has a context similar to hugging or kissing someone you know. It's a demonstration of affection. But it can have the context of territorialism. A way of saying "this Omega/Alpha/Beta is mine! Back off!".

It's not necessarily exclusive to romantic partners. Friends and Parent-Child relationships also can have this as a present manifestation of affection.

What do you think a verse where betas have their own heat cycle would be like?

Not my jam, honestly. Ilike only Omegas having heats. But I'll humor you for this ask.

- Beta heats are much less frequent and much less intense than Omegas.

- Unlike Omegas who are only fertile in heat (in this verse), Betas are fertile all year round and the heat only increases their fertility slightly.

- Their heats aren't strong enough to teigger an Alpha's or Omega's rut/heat.

- Neither do they get as debilitated as Alphas and Omegas.

- They do however still need to be taken care of because they experience pains, aches and discomfort.

- They don't need to be knotted or to knot in order to satisfy their needs during their heat.

- Their heats only last 1 to 2 days.

- Usually when a Beta has twins, or a litter (3 or more) it's most likely a heat derived pregnancy. But singlets are not uncommon in heats either.

- Specially male Betas can be very flexible in heat. If paired with a submissive partner(s) their heats resemble more like ruts, but if they're with a dominant partner their heats look more like Omega heats.

I just want ask do Betas have a reaction to Alphas and Omegas pheromone scent. ??

They notice it. But they don't succumb to it.

In theory a Beta does not get affected by Alpha and Omegas going into heat or rut. But they do notice the scent. They're usually also affected to a lesser degree when an Alpha or Omega are feral.

I however like to think of this just a general rule though. Cause I think there are Betas who are more sensitive.
