Momster of the Day:
Beth Jarrett from Ordinary People
I'm on chapter 29/31 in the book ordinary people and I understand how badly beth hurts, how she cant heal but something about her just rubs me horribly raw and I hate her for it and I think that's very important to my real life.
Sometimes we can understand people and see their pain, see the blood boil in their veins, see the seething mess of someone who needs to heal and wants to...but not in the right way.
And sometimes seeing that, seeing someone who doesn't heal even if they're trying because they refuse to go about healing in the best way, hurts or makes it hard to start/keep healing yourself. They tell you to put your mask on before assisting others but what if someone you love refuses to believe the plane is crashing?
I hate this book, I'm so glad I read it
Ordinary People: Conrad and his people. (Dir. Robert Redford, 1980).
