At first Cedric thinks the boy is Harry, but it can’t be, he’s not wearing gryffindor colours and he’s not got glasses, but other than he looks just like him, and the blonde looks strikingly like that malfoy kid too. But it must just be the maze playing tricks, because malfoy and Harry hate each other and these two are looking at each other as if they need the other to survive.

When the two boys ask him to free them, Cedric can’t work out if it’s a trick. But the blonde falters on his feet and the one who isn’t Harry gasps as if it hurts him just as much. All Cedric can see is the fact that these two kids, because they’re so young, need his help so he frees them because how could he not. They thank him and tell him his father loves him very much, and when he touches the goblet and realises it’s a portkey he can’t wait to tell him because his dad loves portkeys and he’d be thrilled that something he loved helped him win the tournament.
