Hey :) I'm thinking of transferring to strathy to do comp sci, (I saw your post about your dissertation..) would you recommend their course? what's it like, I can't decide if I like what I'm doing and would prefer strathy's teaching. :)
Yeah I'd recommend it. You definitely get a good grasp of an entire computer and the theory of computation and stuff, even if you aren't that good at maths (which I am not!). It takes a lot of work though. It's nothing insane like doing medicine as a degree or something, but you have to be prepared to put the work in. Lecturers are mostly friendly, and know their stuff (although some of them can't actually work a laptop and powerpoint which is a bit weird :x)
I also got told the other day every single person in my class bar one has found a job (since we have just graduated now), so Strathclyde must be pretty impressive to employers too. What is it you do at the moment? You don't need to have any programming experience (though it probably helps) so as long as you are interested it's pretty accessible as a course I'd say. I'm certainly not much of a programmer or maths guy and I got a 2:1 out of it, though I am geek so that probably helps haha.
Any other questions, or whatever just let us know!
