I've never listened to David Bowie properly. I only really knew him as that guy in Labyrinth, not for any of his other work. But it's absolutely broken my heart to see so many of my heroes, have their hearts broken by his passing. That he meant the world to others, and seeing their reactions today; I had a lump in my throat all morning. Seeing people come together to celebrate everything he was, it's been wonderful. Even if there are millions of people now with a huge vacuum in their life. I just hope I can be that happy when my personal idols die.

Its aesthetic is gorgeous, with this unnerving seasick brokenness that feels like living on the waking edge of a dream. It’s a queasy, guilty love letter from someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing to someone who doesn’t know what they’re getting into. It’s a confused search for shreds of humanity among the ruins of a decadence that is, at least, self-aware.
