Do you guys know who Kate Kennedy is? Also know as BeThereInFive on IG! She is a super fan of Taylor Swift! She’s very smart, level headed, witty and funny and does incredibly interesting and researched podcasts.
She has talked about Taylor a lot! She has done a podcasts with Lauren Lipman and many other about Taylor! Very smart, objective and critical (in a good way) fan, she thinks and speaks very highly of her!
She has also spoken about KAYLOR a lot. Like she’s fully convinced that it happened and that reputation was about Karlie. She a WHOLE PODCAST about a Kaylor deep dive!

She’s an amazing, enthusiast podcaster and she always gives clever and funny insights on all things Taylor :)
Plus I love her so much because I think she firmly believes Kaylor happened. I think now she’s trying to be very rational and not to get carried away by baseless theories, also because a lot of her listeners don’t appreciate Kaylor so much. So yeah I think she toned the Kaylor down, but if you listen to the podcast you can tell she notices Kaylor reference in the lyrics and she like comments on these or repeats them at a really loud voice without adding nothing more, but if you know you know😍 she’s really me, trying to step away and be all rational and stuff but then she finds a daisy or a west village reference and she loses it 😍

I refer to this scene (the best 3 minutes in cinema with the worst screen resolution) a lot these days, because I feel like the conversation surrounding ownership of a woman’s decisions is a narrative we know All Too Well. This episode covers the events that took place leading up to and following the sale of Big Machine Group (who owns the rights to Taylor’s masters) to Scooter Braun (who allegedly orchestrated her 2016 takedown behind the scenes and was pictured w/ Biebs and Kanye smiling at her expense). Upon turning down her only option to buy back her masters (a 1-for-1 earn-back hamster wheel trap of a contract) and never being given the opportunity to buy them outright, the CEO of her former label and former close business partner (Scott Borchetta) sold the rights to the past 13 years of her music to the only person that he knew she did NOT want to have them. According to Taylor, this was a deliberate power play following her rejecting the label’s offer. The internet (along with everyone who knows Scooter/Scott) seems to think that she doesn’t have the right to be incredibly disappointed. And to use her platform to point out to young women to be careful in contract negotiations. And to bring light to the concept of people in power punishing you when they don’t get their way. Whether you’re a fan or not, I think we need to see the deeper issues at hand and not write this off as simply “playing the victim.” Hope you enjoy another classic Be There in Five Deep Dive.
