In 1887 Queen Victoria, the reigning British monarch, celebrated her Golden Jubilee marking 50 years of her reign. Kapiolani, her sister-in-law Liliuokalani, and a small traveling party journeyed to England to represent the Kingdom of Hawaii at the celebrations. One June 20, 1887, Kapiolani and Liliuokalani accompanied by Colonel Iaukea and Mr. Synge of the British Foreign Office were shown to a large room in Buckingham Palace. As reported by Liliuokalani [Hawaii’s Story by Hawaii’s Queen] That evening a party was given at the Foreign Office. When I entered, I was surprised to my sister-in-law, Queen Kapiolani, standing almost alone and unattended, as though she were at a loss what to do next. Near me was a fine lady, a Grand Duchess from one of the small German principalities. The sun’s setting , and the day has yet to end for @manaai of Hui Aloha Aina Momona, @ribg_kauai Food Forest and Seed Collective , @gofarmhawaii Wakea project, Temanakaikoa Heritage Foundation @alohaalliance , @hawaiianwatermovement @nakalaiwaaokauai crew members in delivering all this huli for #kui2018 on (Kauai and Oahu) and #onipaakakou . A kahea was put out for the Manaai Papakuiai Workshop to help gather , huki boards for families and an open invite to collect hawaiian huli for upcoming events , Ohana and learning an issue that all kalo taroist and farmers look to resolve .Previously, All kalo taroist available were gathered in Molokai, and that aha society lesson brought in to the educators a practice for finding solutions on Kalo resistance . Work space for huli sterilization was prepped in morning , prayer for wisdom and understanding through our this beautiful non ballistic orange brownie 💪🏽✊🏽🤛🏾🤪🤙🏽day, hui the poi board makers and trainees which included many organizations and families to come together put in their arms with #ikekaula , while Keiki enjoy their time with @lanipofarm children group.
