Swim bladder probs?

Hey guys, does excessive buoyancy indicate swim bladder problems? Rhaegar spends a lot of time just floating at the top of his tank, not sideways or anything but just floating there, like so:

I had previously chalked his swimming difficulties up to his giant fins, because he can swim around and go to the bottom and he doesn't go sideways. However, I just noticed when he does go to the bottom, he usually wedges himself under something as if to keep from floating away.

Thoughts?? Would an Epsom salt bath help? (Is there danger of shocking the fish with the sudden change of water quality when doing the bath?)

Question for the betta community

so i just got home and the water here is drinkable but like. has a lot of chemicals in it to make it so. Would conditioning it be enough or do i have to actually buy purified water for my fish?

Can someone help me with this betta fish behaviour? I find it cute and funny but I'm not sure if it means something is wrong. The behaviour in question happens at the end. He likes to swim under the tree roots (he also swims between the plant leaves at the bottom sometimes). Is it cuz he's itchy or is he having fun?

Does anyone else think a tank that holds a betta with other fish looks unnatural? Or is that just me?

Betta Diet Question

Ok so I'm feeding my 3 boys a variety of food, but I'm not sure if I'm doing it in the correct proportions. I pretty much do equal amounts of each, but idk if I should be feeding certain foods more or less often than others. Here's what I have: NLS pellets, Fluval bug bites, frozen brine shrimp, and frozen blood worms ( as well as zoomed pellets and freeze dried blood worms which I don't use any more). Anyone got an idea what a good feeding schedule would look like? Or am I okay just distributing them evenly?

Should I be worried?

So I just moved my boy Viserion to a 10 gallon tank, and his hide is a black ceramic mug. I wouldn't think it would be that reflective, being on black substrate and pretty dark inside, but apparently he can see himself in the mug because he likes to go into it and flare. He doesn't go crazy or thrash around, usually he just sits there with his gills and fins spread. After like 30 seconds of sitting there he'll swim away. He does this intermittently throughout the day. Should I be worried that he'll stress himself out or over-flare? I would prefer to leave the mug in there as it's his only hide, but I can take it out if necessary. The fact that he has to choose to swim all the way into the mug to see himself, and can swim away whenever he wants, makes me hope it's not something to be concerned about, but he does do it quite often.

Bettablr I'm gonna need some help with this one! I'm about .2 seconds away from taking home this gorgeous guy, but I have no (good) experience with sick fish. What are those light colored scales? And what's good for fin rot? Thanks!

Baby bettas?

Ok, Spyro is soooooo tiny, and I know baby bettas require different care than adults, so I have some questions! First of all, how do you tell if they're a baby? Spyro is less than half the size of my other two boys, but he does have pretty distinct colors which I'm guessing don't show up until they develop a bit. Secondly, please point me towards any resources about caring for babies! Even if Spyro isn't completely considered a baby, I want to make sure he gets the best care possible because he certainly isn't fully grown. Thanks!
