Found this incredibly funny but also educational. Don’t put your betta fish or ANY fish in a bowl. Minimum 5 gallons y’all!! If you can’t afford the minimum requirements, don’t get the pet 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Im not being insensitive, pets are a luxury and if you can’t afford the things they need, you are torturing that animal.

I'm in the process of getting to move cross country, and once I get settled well enough into my own place, I am going to be looking into getting another Betta fish. I have an Amazon wishlist all set up for it, and will be getting a fish from a breeder this time around. I really want an orange Betta, or even a black crow tail. Those ones are definitely on my wish list right now.

Hey uhhhhh anyone know anything about Betta fish? Because my old man Feesh just grew this wack looking thing on his dorsal fin in the past 10ish days and it's weighing him down

Okay so, I need help. Mars has dropsy (or what I think is dropsy). Hes corkscrewing, his scales are beginning to flare, and he is staying at the bottom of the tank only occasionally coming up from air. I tested his water and the pH was high but ammonia and nitrates low. So I did a 50% water change and I'm looking up a couple things to do. If anyone could help I would be grateful. I've never dealt with dropsy this early before

a small betta care guide

tank size:

2.5 is the minimum but 5 or more is recommended

in other words 2.5 is ok but i wouldn’t recommend it but 5+ is great so if you can do more than 5 gallons that will always be appreciated by your betta

some tank examples:

a little on the smaller side but an okay tankfor a betta, the filter might have too heavy of a flow for longer finned bettas and if you can get one bigger than this one pls do

perfect sized aquarium with a nice built in filter

another great sized aquarium with a built in filter

starter kit that has tanks from 5-55 gallons, comes with filter

please note that even if the tank comes with a filter you may have to replace it because the flow might be too strong

heater:

bettas NEED heater to thrive

they will be miserable or even possibly die with out one as they are tropical fish

-buy filters according to tank size

-bettas need 78-80 degree water so get one that is preset to that temp or get one that you can set the temp yourself

i have this one, it’s 25 watts and perfect for a 5 gallon tank

most heaters you will find in pet stores will be preset so you need to look for the temperature and watts

-the general rule for watts is 3-5 watts per gallon (so for 5 gallons you want about 25 watts)

-look for a preset temp of about 78 degrees

filters:

bettas are bad swimmers. thats just the facts. filters that are gentle enough for bettas are really hard to find but here’s the one i use

it has an adjustable flow so it accommodates betta fish very well

some tanks also have gentle flow filters or filters meant for bettas built in which are also good to look for

-remember that you have to change out the filter cartridges about every month

cleaning:

when you clean your tank you need a syphon

which is one of these bois

get one with a pump cause if you get one without it you will have to start it with tour mouth and we don’t wanna risk gettin diseases

you need to do a 10-20% water change every week and if that’s too much work than well my friend fish keeping is not for you because this is an absolute necessity to a happy and healthy fish

(for a 5 gallon tank changing out 1-2 gallons a week is recommended)

i made this for a friend who had some questions about betta care, i only brushed the surface in this post but feel free to ask me if you have more questions and please for the love of god do your own research because you should never rely on a single source

I don't know what type of Betta this is, and also is quite small I believe he or she is a few months old. Can someone help me and do you know if they grow more ?

I want...to add a decoration to my moss balls jar....I want it to be funny, but pg, and I would like it to be water/ocean/moss related.....but I cannot think of anything suitable. My dumb brain is stuck on a tiny sign that says 'come back with a warrant' and apparently after that my brain tapped out....it has reached its limit of ideas for the day.....please...does anyone have any ideas
