Bruce Banner is a collector of extremely cursed objects. This is a very dangerous job, gets people killed, and not many people endeavor to actively seek out cursed objects. You have to have responsibility, patience, and a willingness to do what’s best for the betterment of human society. 

Either that or your hobby is to investigate thrift shops and antique stores, like Bruce! 

Bruce doesn’t know that he’s an official collector of cursed objects, actually. He just thought the demonic vase that had the warning on the bottom of “do not tread without knowledge” was just about leaving food in there for too long. 

(He uses it for coffee storage.) 

He has a...notable amount of cursed objects. It rivals a collection in Europe, which is placed in an airtight vault that has forty-eight security measures and a surprise back-up. 

Bruce has a deadbolt and a baseball bat that is set against a corner of his kitchen.

Loki Odinson is the owner of the collection in Europe. With careful precautions and a 100% success rate, he’s the person you call when you need to find something, potentially harm someone, or get away with your own death in a successful manner. 

He had heard rumors from contacts in the US that there was a man who lived in New York who had a substantial collection and wasn’t exactly keen on following most of the rules that were set. 

So he paid him a visit, bringing Thor along. 

“You’re here in case anything goes bad,” Loki says. 

“So I’m the muscle in case you get your scrawny ass kicked,” Thor teases. 

Loki rolls his eyes. 

“You’re lucky I let you come. I don’t have any idea what we’re up against.”

What they’re up against is a scientist who can’t follow a sleep schedule and uses the Pen of Unimaginable Terror as his “calculation” pen. 

“The ink is really good in it,” he says with a shrug. “Is it supposed to do something?” 

“It has written the most horrific death sentences into existence,” Loki says faintly. “It has caused destruction beyond your wildest dreams.” 

“Well now it helps me with my equations, so I guess that’s karma?” Bruce suggests with a shrug. “What else in this house is cursed?” 

Loki looks around. Nearly everything. 

“How are you...how are you not dead yet?” 

“Oh believe me, I passed that stage a long time ago. It coincided with U2, it was a whole messy ordeal. Who are you two?” 

“I’m Loki, I’m one of the best curators for cursed and dangerous objects here. This is Thor. My brother.” 

“No fancy bragging rights?” Bruce asks, amused. 

“I have muscles and sometimes a good idea,” Thor states, teasing. “Who are you?” 

“Bruce Banner, head biology scientist at Stark Industries and also someone who apparently has really bad luck at thrift stores.”

Loki is seething, mostly because of where he found out Bruce got his items. Loki had spent years collecting, observing, and participating in the curation of items. 

And this American man just simply drove to different stores that specialized in previously owned items or items considered “old” and just...found all of this. 

He had the book of evil magic in all forms, aka one of the worst books around, and it was just. In an antique store. And he was using it to prop up a bookshelf.

Thor, however, is having great fun.

What all three don’t know is that there’s an underlying evil that is about to be bought at a thrift store, although it won’t be Bruce’s usual venture. 

No, this will be far worse.
