Better Ways... (Steve McGarrett/Reader)
“RUN!” Everyone’s head snapped toward Steve and Danny running out of the building frantically.
You pushed Kono and Chin up using their momentum to latch on for a boost. They took off leaving you in the dust. You were never good at running and you weren’t even supposed to be in the field, but today was one of the few exceptions.
“Y/N get down!” You heard Steve shout. You searched frantically for anything to take cover behind before you felt a strong arm pull you into an even stronger grasp as the earth shook beneath your feet. Hot wind and debris pushed you forward landing into the dirt. Steve’s weight pushing the air out of your lungs.
Steve pushed up quickly straddling you, “Babe? Baby are you alright?”
You opened your eyes slowly as his hands began brushing your hair from your face holding it gently, “There are better ways to ask me to get into this position Steve...Blowing up a building...not necessary...”
He chuckled leaning down kissing you over and over again and only stopped when Danny sat up, “Hey Danny, are you okay? Oh yeah...i’m fine, All scratched up but I’m good, thanks for asking. You’re so thoughtful.”
“Danny you alright?” Steve smirked looking at him as he stood.
He waved his hand toward the two of you, “Don’t worry about it...carry on being disgustingly cute...”
also hey while i’m on the topic of continual tlj discussion can i ask why i haven’t seen a single fucking person mention the fact that Luke Skywalker, purest most forgiving and “i know there’s still good in you” jedi boy that ever lived would NEVER FUCKING IN HIS LIFE EVER raise a weapon against a child??? like... at the MOST he would MAYBE think about doing it for a BRIEF AND FLEETING MOMENT but i could never in my wildest dreams see him get so far as to pull out his lightsaber.
there were other issues with his characterization going on for sure in tlj but this was by far the biggest and most glaring of them all.
You Are | Im Jaebum
i really need to go tf to bed. bc i have work at 7:30 tomorrow morning, and i’m working three jobs tomorrow meaning i’m not going to have any time to nap--and in fact i’m working three jobs all week so like, all of my time to nap is now gone.
and i’m nauseous and headachy and have been essentially hallucinating for the past two hours
but i just
don’t want to go to sleep
bc i don’t want to dream, and i hate losing so much time, bc with my work schedule like it is i don’t get any time for me, really, except for sleep
i've never been truly happy with myself. ever. but it can be one person who makes you look at things in a completely different perspective.
"
The Slavs raised their children according to a special system: Girls were told: “The boy is a future man, a future warrior, a lord, the head of the clan, the father of the family, the father of the children, the god-protector of the clan. Therefore, he must be loved, respected and revered as a God.” Girls were raised in this spirit.
And boys were told: “The girl is a future woman, a future mother, a housewife, the Goddess-keeper of the hearth, the future Lada-Virgin. Therefore, she must be loved, respected and revered as a Goddess.”
And children understood this from an early age. And when a “marriage” was created (a good deed is not called marriage, but a family union), their relationship with each other was like with God. Could there have been disputes and contradictions between them later, if they treated each other as God and Goddess? Of course not.
And the Slavs did not have the Christian practice of forcing people to get married. First they went to find someone, then they arranged a viewing, and if they liked each other at first sight, then the marriage was consummated. And the most important thing in a family union, besides love, is the blessing of the parents. And as an additional blessing, God's blessing."
