Why didn’t anyone point this out to the homeowner? Leo specializes in Authentic vintage materials and methods of applying them capturing the intricate character of the past.
French style architectural details are not the same as America’s homes or even English style homes. There are interesting differences that are typically overlooked even in multimillion dollar homes. These walls were reproduced from 19th century armoire doors.
The walls from that time period in France were approached the same as furniture by the same furniture makers in a Paris.

More than just decorating.
When the bones of the architecture are not good enough, Leo can still correct it. Shown here Leo painted trompe l’oeil cartouches and wood plank to create a tray ceiling on the plain drywall. He used an aubergine paint to create drama in an other wise ordinary hallway. He used a reclaimed carved wall panel to add architectural substance.
