Meditation Challenge - Day 1
I didn't realize that the hosting site for the Meditation Challenge comes with a free journal, intended for us to write in after we have meditated for the day. So for ease of use, I'll just copy my journal here for all of you guys to see!
The Journey to Perfect Health
Today's Centering Thought: I commit to living perfect health. Our Sanskrit Mantra: Om Bhavam Namah (I am absolute existence. I am a field of all possibilities.)
1. What does perfect health mean to you? It means treating my body with love and care. It means loving myself. It means learning how to cope with the hard times in life without harming myself in irreversible ways. It means honouring my body by being cautious of what I put into it, using it to its full potential, and loving it just the way it was made.
2. As you seek perfect health, what would you most like to improve? I would like to find different ways of coping with stress and hard times, that do not involve food. I would like to stop drinking soda. I would like to stop eating fake food and start eating real food.
3. How would your life transform if you felt completely vibrant and strong? I would love waking up in the morning. I would cultivate and maintain supremely strong relationships with the people in my life who are important to me. I would learn to be content with my life and circumstances.
4. Please use this section to reflect on today's session. For my first real meditation, this was amazing. I slipped into a deep trance that was almost sleep-like. I suddenly became conscious of the fact that my head was slowly bowing. Not in the way it starts to flop when you fall asleep, but slowly and deliberately, as though I was bowing in gratitude to my guides, my teachers, and my body itself. To my body specifically, I found myself dedicating this practice. I found myself subconsciously repenting of the way I had treated it previously. This was amazing. I need this.
