Beverage Manager
The Beverage Manager will be helping to develop and manage a soon-to-be iconic New York City barroom and all other beverage related activities. The Manager will be responsible for purchasing and maintaining inventory, seeking new products, developing new menu items and maintaining high service standards across all platforms of the beverage program. This is an opportunity for someone who really loves all kinds of quality drinks- from classic cocktails to artisan drinks and excellent wines at all levels
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Training and development of management and hourly team members
Oversight of departmental administration
Control of inventory and labor costs
Monitor schedules for their department to achieve a profitable result
Implement effective control of beverage and labor costs in concert with the controller
Develop and refine service-style for multiple bar areas. Work with staff to hone said skills.
Regularly review and evaluate the degree of customer acceptance of the bar program
Participate in marketing efforts to build and maintain the business
Develop new beverage menu items
Maintain a comprehensive yet accessible wine list
Requirements:
3+ years hospitality management experience, emphasis on wine/spirits preferred.
Total knowledge and understanding of wine and spirits with no pretense.
Strong understanding and knowledge of the local and visitor markets
Experience initiating relationships with vendors, developing marketing strategies, and growing restaurant business in concert with other top team members
Ability to develop and facilitate training
High level of customer service focus
Ability to motivate staff to drive business results
Knowledge of all local, state and national liquor law/practices
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
