... In the Bible, Jeremiah knew that he been called by God directly.. Jeremiah is given a sense of God's purpose for his life right from the time of his conception.. . 'Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.' Jeremiah 1:5 . For Jeremiah the call is clear and specific - aimed at one man, with one task, to one target group... . But as we read in the book of Jeremiah although the calling was clear.. Jeremiah immediately recognised his inexperience...' Ah Lord God! Truly I do not know how to speak, for I am only a boy' Jeremiah 1:6... There was self-doubt from Jeremiah that he was the right person for the job.. This is one of many stories in the Bible of God calling and those who have been called feeling under qualified.. Now here's the thing.. If we feel we can accomplish a task in our own strength.. God may not be calling us to do it.. He chooses people who rely on Him rather than themselves.. And asking someone who feels totally inadequate to do the the job for Him is likely to ensure that they stick close to God.. pursuing God's way rather than their own.. . Later in that scripture we read.. 'Do not say,' I am only a boy', for you shall go to all whom I send you, and you shall speak whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, says the Lord. Jeremiah 1 7:8.. . .. When God calls you.. He also equips you and qualifies you for that calling.. You enter into partnership with God.. So do not fear.. Whatever God has called you to do.. Trust that He is with you every step of the way and will make a way for you.. . . .
