Pride is one of those sins that can sneak up on you when you least realize it! No matter how much time you’ve been a Christian, no matter how much Bible you know, or what you’ve done for God, etc. YOU ARE STILL SUSCEPTIBLE TO THE SIN OF PRIDE. And to think you’re not IS a form of PRIDE. No one wants to be that Christian that admits they have fallen to the sin of pride… but it happens. When you recognize that in yourself, repent from it and move on. Clothe yourself with humility (Colossians 3:12-14) and feed your soul with the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). At some point or another we all struggle with pride. How much or how little of pride you experience doesn’t matter… because at the end of the day any amount of pride you experience and act on is BAD FOR YOU. Pride is selfish, it exalts itself, it doesn’t care about your neighbor, it doesn’t exhibit love! It is self serving. You were made for more than that. You were made to love, not to be prideful. Pride separates you from God and from what those around you. Strive to be humble, not prideful.
“When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but wish humility comes wisdom” Proverbs 11:2
“God opposes the proud and shows favor to the humble” James 4:6
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”Colossians 3:12-14
