RD14558. DOT at the NGRM. by Ron Fisher Via Flickr: RD14558. The locomotive builders Beyer Peacock in Gorton, Manchester, had their own 18 inch gauge railway system for moving goods and components around the factory complex. To operate on this they built this dinky little 0-4-0 tank called DOT in 1887 and it can now been seen at the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum. This is located at Tywyn Wharf Station on the Talyllyn Railway in mid-Wales. In front of DOT is a replica station platform seat from Sparrowlee which was a halt on the 2ft 6in gauge Leek & Manifold Valley Railway in Staffordshire. It has cast iron end frames marked 'LMVR'.
