Just went through some of the Epstein files… I’m disgusted beyond words. I thought the world was bad before, turns out it’s worse.
My team and I all work remotely, but my coworker has just had to log off as the police have arrived to take their statement as they were verbally and physically assaulted whilst taking a walk on their lunch break.
The rise in right wing politicians and media has a direct effect on the behaviour of the public, and we're seeing a rise in hate crime all over but it is appalling that in 2025 that a black woman minding her own business cannot walk through a park in England without being attacked.
I’m really getting sick of all this divide within the fandom like what the hell happened?? When I joined back in 2012 way before Taylor joined there wasn’t any of this it was all about our love for Taylor and her music and there was cool edits and tumblr art and everything and people were respectful, friendly, helpful, and warm welcoming to those that joined the fandom, we supported one another and everything that used to represent our fandom was there. We were the most well respected amongst all the other fandoms.
And when Taylor did join Tumblr in 2014 there still wasn’t any of this entitlement or thirst for attention yes we wanted Taylor to notice us and follow us and check out our blogs and like and reblog our posts and yes we self-reblogged a little but it was very tame and respectful and we all helped each other out too to make sure that our dream came true and we were still the respectful, kind and warm welcoming fandom that we always were (or we once was). I was one of the lucky ones that did get noticed at that time by Taylor she followed me in October of that year (without liking or reblogging anything) and here and there she has liked some of my posts and the highlight for me was when she liked my album review of 1989 that I wrote for my university newspaper almost a month after she followed me and I’m forever grateful for that and I’ll never forget it and I would have never gotten that like if it wasn’t for those Swifties that helped me along the way so I don’t give myself all the credit for that I’m internally grateful and I’m grateful for every post that Taylor liked from my blog whether it was original or something I reblogged from someone else and those that were reblogged I’ve found the most special because I helped someone get noticed and that made me feel good that I made someone’s dream come true and I still try to help wherever I can.
But things started to change it started during the 1989 era and became more apparent when the Rep era started as more of the fandom joined tumblr after Taylor joined and its happening right now. People started showing their true colours, they became more selfish, greedy, jealous, entitled, hateful and thirsty and now everything is a competition a race for Taylor’s attention and it’s getting toxic and ugly.
Self-reblogging has gotten more rampant and sadly the only way to get Taylor’s attention and for some it’s their entire blog just them reblogging themselves over and over and when they do get Taylor’s attention they try coming back for more which angers those that don’t get noticed so much so that some of them unfollow people or threaten to block and terminate peoples blogs because that person got noticed (which for the record is NOT okay and wrong on so many levels), people leave when Taylor leaves and come back when she does or they complain that she’s not on 24/7 when she’s a celebrity that has a life and can’t always be on everyday. People selfishly brag about meeting Taylor or getting noticed by Taylor and shames those that haven’t and what’s sad is that everyone is cynical and to themselves now no one wants to help swifties out anymore you ask someone to reblog a post for them they complain about it or ignore you, everyone reblogs the reblogged posts but not your original ones along with self-reblogs and it just feels lonely it’s just sad that people are really that selfish and there’s many more issues but those are just a few things I’ve noticed change within the fandom
and this is one of the reasons why I took a break for most of last year and into this year is because the fandom is not what it used to be it’s too toxic and competitive now and even when I did come back a couple of months ago it still hasn’t changed now I know not ALL of the fandom is like this there’s still some in the fandom that are sweet and kind and that still represents what the fandom used to be but I’m just disgusted at the way this fandom has been lately. This fandom truly NEEDS a reality check and fast I know we are all not perfect but we can at least try to be more respectful to others and be more supportive of other swifties and think of people other than ourselves anyways that’s it that’s my rant...
I try hard not to watch Donald Trump because he upsets me so much. The man is a liar - the US is no where near past this, they have the HIGHEST mortality rate in the world - he said the lowest. Politicians have always twisted the truth but Trump is by far the worst world leader of my time. Innocent people will die and have died throughout the world because of HIS decisions.
Trump needs to be informed of facts and what actual powers he has - because clearly he’s confused and I know more and I’m not even an American citizen.
Did you see the selfish morons protesting for the end of the lockdown, he leads them.
This decision reopen the US doesn’t just kill innocent Americans but will increase the spread into countries like my own.
