Beyond the Moment: April 4th Day of Political Education & Action
TUESDAY APRIL 4
Find events near you at beyondthemoment.org/april-4
This year marks 49 years since Dr. Martin Luther King’s assassination, but white supremacy and corporate greed continue to work together against families forced to struggle to make ends meet. On April 4, thousands of activists with the Fight for $15 and the Movement for Black Lives will take to the streets in two-dozen cities across the country to continue the fight for racial and economic justice. More info here.
Witnessing the journey… Making no attempts to fine tune… No magnifying glass under our sleeves… No forcing artificial realizations… Sometimes we are called to be gentle spectators, to give ourselves the well-deserved time to lay back in appreciative retrospective... #beyondthemoment #naturalrhythms #landscapeinabox #vivalabeat #expressiveartstherapy #uncertainty (at East York) https://www.instagram.com/p/BzdmwSvAHph/?igshid=1hfw8sqolbwlu
Repost from @blackgirlsrock using @RepostRegramApp - With solemn hearts we say #JordanEdwards. We #sayhisname because he was the future. A life removed at the hands of those paid to protect us will never be normal. #blacklivesmatter #Repost @womensmarch with @repostapp ・・・ His name was #JordanEdwards. He was 15. He was killed, inexplicably, heartbreakingly, by police in Balch Springs, Texas. There are no words. Today, we rise up for Jordan Edwards, and we do so knowing that anti-Blackness and militarism contributed to his death. We will keep fighting for Jordan and for all Black people killed by police, today and #BeyondTheMoment.
#Repost @womensmarch with @repostapp ・・・ On January 21, 2017, five million of us came together to raise our voices in unity at Women’s Marches around the globe. That was just the beginning. We have all spent the past 100 days proving the power of our collective voice, from the #NoBanNoWall actions at airports around the country to A Day Without a Woman, the Tax March, the Science March, People’s Climate March and going #BeyondTheMoment on May Day. That was the first 100 days. Now, we recommit ourselves to resistance work—and to each other. We commit to each other's liberation. Make your commitment today by clicking the link in our bio and signing the #PledgeOfLiberation. • IMAGE DESCRIPTION: On a red background, white all-caps text reads "I commit to:" Off-white text continues below, "My Liberation" and on the line below that, "Your Liberation." On the bottom line, dark blue text reads "Our Liberation." In the bottom left corner, a dark blue hashtag is followed by "Pledge of Liberation." The women's March logo is in the bottom right corner.
