well known government position: if we can turn these two groups against each other, that otherwise would be a more effective force for change, then maybe there will be no change, and the government can continue to oppress them.
they don't have to believe in transmisognyny in order to regurgitate its talking points
think about how we talk about mlk vs malcolm x. the gov provably hated king just as much as they hated the black panthers, but they had no qualms about co-opting and corrupting mlk's image and words to condemn and criminalize malcolm x
